So far, So good | Weekly Report 11.10.23

Welcome to the Weekly Report (R.E.P.O.R.T). I came across this idea on TikTok where people shared their reports using photos, and I loved it so much that I decided to turn it into a blog series. This is where I’ll be sharing my recent experiences and recommendations. So, in the first full week of November, I had a great time exploring delicious food, getting creative with my nails, getting hooked on thrilling TV shows, and taking some much-needed “me” time. Let’s jump into some exciting highlights of my week!

Reading

I started the week by diving into a captivating novel called “Ruthless Prince” by Faith Summers. This dark mafia romance is a masterpiece, I must say. Although I don’t typically read mafia romance, it has become somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me. It’s not a heavy read and strikes the perfect balance of spice without being overwhelming.

The vivid descriptions and characters’ chemistry made it difficult to put the book down. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic read with a touch of danger. You’re sure to love the main character and mobster Massimo.

Eating

My taste buds got a real treat when I tried a new recipe – a white cheddar shell and broccoli pasta. The mix of the fresh broccoli, fragrant garlic, and sharp Vermont white cheddar created an explosion of flavors that danced on my palate with every bite. The perfectly cooked pasta and perfect blending of flavors satisfied both my cravings and my senses. I can’t wait to whip it up again.

Playing

I have also been exploring my creativity lately by doing my own nail sets. It has been a fun and rewarding experience as I improve my skills. The TikTok press-on girlies have convinced me to stop going to salons and instead try press-on nails, and I’m really glad I listened! Trying different styles and techniques has allowed me to experiment and relax.

Plus, there’s no wait time involved. It’s a great way to add a personal touch to my self-care routine and enhance my overall style. I highly recommend giving it a try if you’re interested in trying out press-ons and reclaiming your time back from the nail salons. You can find everything you will need to start your press-on nails journey here.

Obsessing Over

The TV show that completely has me obsessed this week is “Found”. Its thrilling plot, complex characters, and unexpected twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat with every episode. The show follows a woman who is on a mission to rescue those forgotten people who have gone missing in the metropolitan D.C. area, specifically focusing on black and brown individuals who have experienced the same fate she once did. It offers a fresh take on typical television shows, and I love it!

She and her team have deep connections to the work, and every week you gain more insights into their background. It’s great! The meticulous planning, clever strategies, and emotional depth of the characters make it a must-watch for anyone who enjoys gripping dramas with a some suspense. I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds in the upcoming episodes.

Recommending

If you’re looking to treat yourself to a new skincare product, I highly recommend the “Glow Recipe PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Watermelon Glow Toner“. This luxurious toner provides incredible hydration, leaving your skin refreshed. It also tightens your pores, making you ready to jump-start your day.The watermelon extract provides a burst of hydration, while the gentle tightening properties leave your skin feeling smooth, tight, and glowing. It’s the perfect addition to your morning/nighttime skincare routine and adds a touch of indulgence to your self-care rituals.

Treating

To reward myself for a productive first week of November, I treated myself to a day of very light shopping at the mall and made sure to snag some goodies from the Sephora sale. I must admit, this week really tested me. Between wrapping up big projects and dealing with external problems, it drained me in my best Marlo voice. So it felt right to take some much-needed time for myself, step outside the house, and celebrate making it through the week. It was a day of pure bliss and self-care, where I could disconnect from the outside world and focus solely on my well-being.

In conclusion, November’s first full week was filled with captivating readings, delightful cooking experiences, entertaining games, thrilling TV shows, and moments of self-care. I hope you enjoyed reading about my recent experiences and recommendations. Stay tuned for more exciting content in the coming weeks!
